As part of the School Board's efforts to encourage members of the community to become involved in school activities, a gold card program has been established. Every resident of the county who is over the age of 62 and retired may make application for a gold card at the School Board Administration Office located at 4290 Anderson Highway, Powhatan Virginia. Proof of age and residency must be presented in the forms of a driver's license, birth certificate, or other official means of identification which indicates the year of birth and address. Gold card holders are entitled to free admission to all school-sponsored functions including sports events, cultural events and all adult education classes.
